Overview

What Pukalani is, how your community is put together, and how to find your way around this guide.

Pukalani is a community platform: a place of your own where your members write, learn and meet — under your name and your design. Unlike a group inside a large network, this place belongs to you.

The platform is modular: comments, posts, pages, design and moderation can each be switched on and off. You start lean and add what you actually need.

Two places worth knowing

PlaceWhat it's for
Your community — yourname.pukalani.appEverything your members see: home page, comments, posts, pages. As the owner, you reach the administration from here via Dashboard — including your community's plan and billing.
Your account area — account.pukalani.appThe overview of every community you belong to, and the starting point for new ones. Also reachable from any dashboard through the community switcher at the top left.

The two are separate because they belong to different things: the community owns its content, its members and its contract — the account area belongs to you and your account. One account can hold several communities.

Principles you can rely on

  • Hosted in Germany. The servers are at Hetzner in Germany.
  • No advertising trackers. No ads, no reselling of data.
  • Sign-in that asks for little. First-party sessions, no forced password — you can sign in with a code sent to your email address.
  • No one-way contract. Export and deletion are built in; your content stays yours.
Pukalani is currently in Early Access: new communities are created by invitation. Some products are built and running but are not yet part of the open offering — this guide marks them as Early Access.
