Translations
Your community rarely speaks just one language. That's why every piece of content carries a Translate button: one click, and the text appears in the language the reader is currently using. Show original brings back the original wording at any time.
What gets translated
- Posts and questions — title and body.
- Comments — including the embedded widget on your own website.
- Polls — question, body and every answer option. Votes are never affected: what counts is the position, not the wording.
- Events — title and description.
- Courses — the course description and every lesson.
Markdown formatting, code, links and @-mentions are left untouched. Mixed-
language texts work too: whatever is already in the target language stays,
the rest gets translated.
One translates, everyone benefits
The first person to translate a piece of content into their language triggers the translation — after that it is stored. Every further reader of the same language sees it instantly, with no waiting. If the original gets edited, the outdated translation disappears automatically; the next click creates a fresh one.
Who can translate
The button is visible to signed-in members. Guests read the original — this keeps the feature safe from automated abuse. A generous daily allowance per account ensures fair use; stored translations never count against it.
Translating never shows more than reading
Translation respects every access boundary: a lesson that requires an enrollment or a subscription only hands out its text as a translation once you have that access. Hidden or deleted content cannot be translated.
