Posts & feed
Posts by your members in Markdown, plus polls and questions — chronological in the feed, open to discussion like everything else.
From the Personal plan. Without a subscription the feed is not included.
Where comments hang under something, posts are the something: your members write for themselves, and the feed shows what is happening, in order.
Three kinds of post
| Kind | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Post | The normal case: title (optional) and text in Markdown |
| Poll | Up to six options, optionally with a closing date |
| Question | Like a post, but marked as a question |
The text is Markdown (up to 10,000 characters), titles up to 200. Raw HTML is allowed nowhere — that holds for all content in Pukalani.
Polls
- Up to six options of 100 characters each.
- Every member has one vote.
- The results become visible once you have voted yourself or the poll has closed — until then nobody sees the running count. That stops the first vote from pulling the rest along.
- With a closing date the poll ends by itself.
Votes
Posts can be voted up and down. The counting is done by the server, not the browser — so the number on screen cannot be manipulated.
The states of a post
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Time set; until then visible only to the author |
| Published | Visible in the feed |
| Hidden | Removed by moderation (can be restored) |
| Deleted | Withdrawn by the author |
Comments and moderation
Comments run under every post. Posts can be reported, hidden and restored — the tools for that are described in Moderation.
Any signed-in member can write; hiding and restoring is for the moderator role and above (see Members & roles).
