Comments
Comments aren't an add-on, they're the connective tissue: they run under posts, under pages and — if you want — even inside your existing website.
What members can do
- Nested replies. Side threads hang indented off the post they answer instead of mixing into the main thread. Within a thread, new replies appear at the top — right below the form.
- Votes. Up and down; the sum is a comment's score. How many upvotes are possible per day is described under Discussions.
- Reactions. Under every reply sits the same bar of eight emoji as under a topic — pure expression, with no effect on score or badges. The set is described under Discussions.
- Mentions. An
@before a name notifies the person mentioned. - Markdown. Bold, italic, lists, links, code — safely rendered.
- Editing and deleting your own comments.
- Reporting. Any comment can be reported; the report goes to Moderation.
Sorting
Four orders to choose from:

Live: presence and real time
New comments appear without reloading. So that nobody shifts the text out from under your cursor, they collect behind a pill reading "Show new comments" until you click it.
On top of that, the presence display shows who is currently
- reading the thread,
- typing,
- replying to a particular comment.
That is the difference between a place that feels inhabited and an archive.
Notifications
Replies and mentions create a notification in the bell. On top of that, every member can switch on emails under Settings → Notifications:
- Off (default),
- Immediately — one email per event,
- Daily digest — at most one email per day, made from whatever has been left unread.
The language of those emails follows the recipient's own setting.
Guests
You decide whether people who aren't signed in may read along. Writing without an account is only possible in the embedded widget, and is a separate switch there — see Embed widget.
Embedding on someone else's website
Comments can be embedded into any other page with a <script> tag — blog,
docs, static HTML. The technical instructions are under
