Nothing gives away an off-the-shelf platform faster than its off-the-shelf look. So you decide your community's colour and typeface yourself — in the dashboard under Themes.
The catalogue: 26 colour worlds
The built-in catalogue holds 26 colour worlds — from Crimson and Coral through Lagoon and Denim to Graphite and Espresso. Each world comes with eleven shades: the base tone plus ten tonal variants, always under the same names.

Because the names are the same everywhere, you can compare worlds instead of clicking your way through arbitrary colours. You choose on a screen of preview tiles: first the world, then the shade.
Custom themes
If the catalogue isn't enough, you create a theme of your own — you give one base colour and the platform works out the rest. A contrast check steps in automatically and shifts colour steps far enough that text stays readable. So you cannot pick a colour that makes your community unreadable.
You can also set, among other things, the neutral base tone (neutral or slightly tinted), the corner rounding and the treatment of headings (weight, letter spacing, capitalisation).
Light and dark
Both modes come out of the same definition — there is nothing to maintain twice. Visitors follow their system setting or switch for themselves.
Fonts
There are exactly two freely choosable roles: one typeface for body text and one for headings (plus a fixed monospace for code). More than three typefaces on a page get restless — that is a deliberate limit.
- From the registry: curated families that the platform serves itself. No call to a third-party font server, so no tracking arises here either.
- Your own fonts: upload WOFF2 files (Dashboard → Themes → Fonts). The file is checked on upload and afterwards served from your own address.
Changes take effect immediately
When you switch colour world or typeface, open windows change without reloading — including for visitors who are reading right now. So you can try things live instead of speculating.
In the editor you also see a preview of your draft; if you leave it without saving, the published state is restored.
